JC – Co-Founder, the Movember Foundation

JC is one of the co-founders of the Movember Foundation, the world’s largest men’s health organisation, dedicated to changing the face of men’s health.

Movember’s journey began in 2003. The goal was simple – to create a campaign bringing back the growth of the moustache whilst having fun and doing good along the way. The idea was to get real men talking about real issues, changing the understanding and attitudes men have towards their health and the actions they take.

Since 2003, the Movember Foundation has grown from a group a friends growing moustaches in Australia, to now having a global presence as the leader in men’s health. Globally Movember each season creates awareness that starts literally billions of conversations about men’s health. They have created a global community of over 5 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas raising over raising over $850 million (AUD), funding more than 1200 game-changing men’s health projects to benefit men’s health. The Movember Foundation is committed to change on a global and measurable scale, and having population impact across men’s health and changing the behavior in men through the awareness, research and education which is achieving game changing results. This helps achieve their overarching goal – giving more life to our fathers, sons, brothers and friends.

JC grew up in a media family, surrounded by journalists, editors, creatives and media agencies. He worked extensively in the Australian media industry. During his time in media, he focused on building brands, marketing, sales and growing network divisions. Driven by project based work, concepts and startups, JC moved out of media and went on to new challenges, creating businesses in manufacturing, food, property and now in the charity space, with the Movember Foundation.

JC now heads up the Global Innovations team at the Movember Foundation, focusing on long-term, global projects designed to develop the already significant success of the brand, with particular emphasis on how the Movember Foundation can stay as an industry leader whilst keeping their ethos of having fun and doing things in the Movember way.
